Wesley Drive & FM 518 Drainage Improvement Project

This drainage project will provide improvements along Wesley Drive, North Wesley, and FM 518.

In 2021, the City started a project that will replace the existing storm sewer system within the FM 518 ROW with a reinforced concrete box culvert or an RCB! This project will install smaller RCBs across FM 518 stubbing out into both Wesley Drive and Highland Terrace Drive ROWs.

Phase 1 includes:

  • Reinforced concrete boxes,
  • curb inlets,
  • junction boxes
  • restoration of the roadways disturbed during installation.

The new storm system will outfall to Corum Ditch, providing improved stormwater conveyance for the area

Capital Improvement Project Budget: $3,628,311

Current Status of Project: Construction mobilization begins on March 16, 2026.

Bid Phase Completed: November 13, 2025

Anticipated completion date: September 2026

Phase 2 includes:

  • Improve roadway drainage performance
  • Reduce localized flooding
  • Rehabilitate pavement and appurtenances along Wesley Street, Highland Terrace Drive, and Loch Lomond Drive.

Capital Improvement Project Budget: $4,845,583

Current Status of Project: 90% design phase. Design is expected to be complete in March 2026

Anticipated bid date: Summer 2026

Anticipated construction start date: Summer 2026
